Cognitive-Behavior Therapy for Insomnia

If you’re struggling with chronic insomnia, you may know how exhausting it can be to lie awake at night, worry about sleep, or start to feel like restful sleep is simply out of reach. You don’t have to keep struggling on your own. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a well-researched, non-medication approach that helps you understand what may be getting in the way of restorative sleep and gently develop new patterns that support your body and mind.

CBT-I is considered a first-line treatment for chronic insomnia and has been shown to significantly improve sleep for many people. Research has also found CBT-I to be as effective as, and in some studies more effective than, sleeping medications, with the added benefit that the improvements can be sustained over time without medication-related side effects.

The goal of CBT-I isn’t simply to teach you how to “sleep better.” It’s to help you develop a more peaceful and trusting relationship with sleep. Together, we look at the thoughts, behaviors, habits, and physiological patterns that may be contributing to sleeplessness, while building practical skills that support your nervous system and your natural capacity for sleep.

The Conquering Insomnia CBT-I program is designed for adults experiencing chronic insomnia. It is based on the CBT-I program developed and researched by Dr. Gregg D. Jacobs through his work at Harvard Medical School and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center with thousands of people experiencing insomnia.

For many people, learning that insomnia is treatable can itself bring a sense of hope. With compassionate guidance, practical tools, and a deeper understanding of your own sleep patterns, you can begin moving toward more restful night, and greater ease and energy during the day.

Jill will be offering CBT-I groups starting in 2027.
